The donation through Sistersspeak 237 took place on Tuesday May 18, 2016 at the Nkambe Council Chamber in the presence of top administrative, municipal and traditional authorities. The gift comprises four computers and books on women related issues meant to be exploited by female councilors and groups within the Nkambe municipality.
On behalf of The Fomunyoh Foundation (TFF), Mokun Njouny Nelson, reiterated the importance of information and communication technology and the use of the internet in modern administration and management. He noted that because women could do great things even under challenging circumstances, TFF would always be by their side. He then revealed that the Nkambe experience was a pilot centre which if successful shall be replicated to other council areas in Cameroon.
An elated mayor of the Nkambe Council Ngabir Paul Bantar, assured the men that empowering women was not a threat to them. The same position was echoed by the 4th deputy mayor of the Council, Madam Hajara Danjuma, who on the behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the donors and assured that such a donation to women does not in any way create a social eclipse in society, but rather empowered different spots for a collective push ahead.
The Fon of Nkambe, then hailed the President of TFF, Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh, for what he has has done to the people of Nkambe in particular and to Donga Mantung in general. He called on his subjects to keep on praying for him and to support his endeavours in order to keep benefiting from his largesse.
The donation was followed by a two-day training workshop on the basics in the use of the computer and internet piloted by the promoter of Sisterspeak 237, Comfort Musa.
