Communities in Nigeria harbouring refugees from Cameroon have been hailed for their hospitality to their guests.

Over 80,000 Cameroonian refugees are taking refuge in Cross River, Taraba, Benue and Akwa Ibom states, among others.

Speaking after the distribution of food items at refugee camps in Cross River State, the leaders of two Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Community Refugee Relief Initiative (CRRI) and Fomunyoh Foundation (FF), said Nigerians' hospitality towards Cameroonians taking refuge in the country was remarkable and a rare gesture.

On Saturday March 17 Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh, President of The Fomunyoh Foundation(TFF) made donations to some churches and civil Society Organizations working with Internally Displaced Persons affected by the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon where over One million persons have been displaced. The event took place at the Foundation’s headquarters in Bamenda, North West Region.

It was a symbolic but landmark stop at the Yaounde Central Hospital and Emergency Centre on Friday October 28, 2016 when the President of The Fomunyoh Foundation (TFF), arrived the health unit and voluntarily opted to donate his precious blood.

The donation through Sistersspeak 237 took place on Tuesday May 18, 2016 at the Nkambe Council Chamber in the presence of top administrative, municipal and traditional authorities. The gift comprises four computers and books on women related issues meant to be exploited by female councilors and groups within the Nkambe municipality.

While accepting his award from The Guardian Post as the 2015 Man of the Year, "For demonstrating unmatched and never-seen indiscriminate philanthropy to the underprivileged in Cameroon," the President of The Fomunyoh Foundation to the applause of the audience said he dedicated the recognition to the soldiers who were staking their lives for the territorial integrity of Cameroon

The Fomunyoh Foundation (TFF) has been partnering with public and private Regional Health authorities of the North West Region of Cameroon's to ensure that the population receives the desired health care and services. It recently offered its premises situated in Bamenda, in the North West Region of Cameroon, in support of a Malaria-No-More campaign for the distribution of Long Lasting Treated Mosquito Nets. Bamenda to Bertoua is a close to 700km journey; long and tiring. But if a journey is for a good cause, the kilometers seem like meters. Braving the bumpiness of the Bamenda - Mbouda road, through the lifeless Santa toll gate, I was drawn to believe that North West Region is a forgotten portion. Is the government really aware of the state of the road leading to one of the two anglophone regions in the country? Well, the Express Road to Bertoua, from Younde, gave me hope that some day it is going to be better for us in the South West and North West Regions of our beloved Cameroon.

From the North West to the Northern Regions, through the West and Littoral Regions, the East Region has benefited from this charitable venture.

It's truly an honour and pleasure to be with you today here in Nkambe, Donga Mantung Division. I have been so touched by what I have lived through today. When my younger brother Fai Cassian, who has lost his name and he is now called The Eye, when he sent me the notification that I have been chosen by the jury to be the personality of the year, I was so moved. I was so moved because I didn't expect that my own brothers and sisters were watching carefully what I have been trying to do within my community of birth, and also for my region, for our country and for my continent.

This resolve was taken during a visit to that institution of higher learning by delegation from the Foundation.
