Dr. Cyprian F. Fisiy
Cyprian F. Fisiy is a Principal Social Scientist and Social Development Team Leader in the Africa Region of The World Bank in Washington, DC. At the World Bank, Dr. Fisiy has previously served as co-coordinator for Involuntary Resettlement (1997) and Resettlement Specialist for Africa (1994). He has worked extensively on numerous investment programs in the Africa Region, including specific projects in Lesotho, Chad, Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire.
Prior to joining The World Bank, Dr. Fisiy participated in several studies on developmental issues in Africa, including research on sustainable management of tropical forests in Cameroon (1993), a research proposal for the TROPENBOS-Cameroon Programme (1992), and an ethno-botanical survey of Mount Kilum, Oku-Bui Division, Cameroon (1990–1992).

Dr. Fisiy was a Research Fellow at the African Studies Center in Leiden, The Netherlands (1993–1994), a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Agrarian Law, University of Wageningen, The Netherlands (1992–1994), and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Human Sciences and teaching assistant at the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon (1982–1992).
Dr. Fisiy received his Ph.D. in the Anthropology of Law at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands, in 1992. He currently resides in Alexandria with his wife, Grace Forgwei, and their three daughters and one son.
